What the first call is really about
The adjuster is already working.
Within days of a serious crash somebody will call, sound sympathetic, ask for a recorded statement and offer a number. That number is not what the claim is worth. It is what the file can be closed for before anyone has priced the injury.

How long do I have to bring a claim?
In most Arizona injury cases, two years from the date of the injury, and considerably less when a public entity is involved. Evidence goes stale much faster than that: vehicles get repaired, video gets overwritten, witnesses move. The sooner someone looks at it, the more of it still exists.
Will my case go to trial?

What should I do right after a crash?
Get medical attention, even if you feel able to walk away, because adrenaline hides injuries and a gap in treatment is the first thing an insurer will use. Photograph everything. Do not give a recorded statement to the other driver's insurer before you have spoken to a lawyer.
